Have you ever noticed that diet plans come and go? What was once a popular plan—and had some pretty impressive results—has been replaced by something else?

It also gives your liver a much needed break, allowing it to rest and repair cells, and detoxes your blood from toxins that could be stuck in your body.
Now, as previously mentioned, when you’re fasting, you’re avoiding anything with calories. Again, this gives your liver a chance to rest, and forces your body to use stored energy in the form of your stored fat.
But what happens if you do have something with calories?
A lot of people find the fasting window to be difficult to handle—due to the lack of food for such a long period of time.
So they have certain juices or drinks to appease the hunger, so they can make it through the fasting window.
However, this presents a major challenge—since you’re not really fasting. But if you do need to have something during this time to keep hunger at bay, a good rule of thumb to follow is to keep your caloric intake under 50 calories.
Keeping to under 50 calories, keeps your liver from starting to function. Once your liver turns on, and starts storing foods, you’re technically out of your fasting window, so the weight loss and other health improvements may stop altogether.
So how you can you last through the fasting state and keep your liver from kicking into gear?

When you go on a fasting or intermittent fasting plan, you do so with one thing in mind:
Weight loss. Even though this plan does boost your overall weight and body fat loss, it does so thanks to the lower calorie intake.
But green tea fasting may increase those results. According to numerous studies, the combination of the catechins and caffeine in green tea could increase your metabolic rate by as much as 4 percent!
Your metabolic rate, which is a measure of how many calories you burn, dictates how much weight you will lose.
A slower metabolic rate will lead to less weight loss.
